Frequently Asked Questions about Self-Service Display Ads
Q. What size ads are available in the E-magazine DoorCountyTravelersJournal.com?
A. The ads are all the same size. Here’s a live sample.
Q. Where will my ad appear in the issue?
A. Your ad will appear in one of the articles on the Front Page of each issue for which it is scheduled.
Q. Once an article containing my ad has been published on the Front Page, what happens for the following issue?
A. Your ad stays in the article where it first appeared – even after that article has moved into the archives. Your ad appears in a new article on the Front Page in the next issue. If an ad has been purchased for a full year (every other week for a total of 26 issues) it will appear in 26 Front Page articles during the course of the year.
Q. If I purchase an ad for a year and it runs 26 times in 26 different articles, but then I do not renew my ad for a second year, how does that affect these ads?
A. Your ads stay with their articles for an indefinite period of time, giving you exposure as readers access our archives searching for articles of interest to them. Your ad “keeps on selling”.
Q. Why are your ad rates so low?
A. Our low ad rates are largely attributed to low overhead for the business, combined with modest circulation, i.e. web visitors during this initial phase of the magazine. As the business grows and our costs and readership increases, ad rates may increase. However, it is our specific mission to provide a low-cost solution to display advertising in Door County. This is probably a good place to mention that 100% of the ad revenue goes directly to our contributing local writers who create the interesting stories we publish.
Q. Your ad rates are based on a cost per ad, rather than on number of impressions or clicks, like most online advertising. How come?
A. We’re a little old-fashioned. Describing the actual cost per ad appearance seems to make more sense to people than counting impressions and clicks as it is very easy to understand.
Q. Can I get reports on how my ad did in terms of how many web visitors saw it and how many web visitors clicked on a hyperlink in my ad/
A. Certainly. Upon request, we will send you a report detailing how many times your ad was shown to website visitors during a certain period of time.
